Drugstore Skincare That's Changed My Skincare Routine

Finally, a new beauty blog post! I'm taking a little break from updating my Christmas Gift Ideas post so I can talk to you guys about one of my favorite things ever- skincare! Over the last few months I've added some new products to my routine. I have a lot of thoughts about all the products I've been trying out and I've been so excited to share them with you.

So far I've been using two different cleansers, the Neutrogena Skin Balancing, Moisturizing, and Soothing Milky Cleanser and the Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub. I've really been loving the Neutrogena cleanser! It's so soft and gentle on the skin, and it really leaves my skin feeling nourished an hydrated. It has kept my breakouts at bay and I definitely think it has made my skin look healthier and plumper. It has a pleasant smell that almost reminds me of tea tree oil and the consistency of the product is definitely milky and smooth (it kind of reminds me of a conditioner, haha!). I didn't expect to enjoy this cleanser as much as I do, but it's really a game changer. It's definitely a 10/10 for me!

The Cetaphil exfoliator is incredibly gentle, which is definitely what I look for in a physical exfoliant. I need to start using chemical exfoliants because, from what I've heard and read, they're way better for your skin and do a better job of getting rid of dead, dry skin. However, I think this Cetaphil exfoliator is a good first step in that direction! It doesn't feel rough or too grainy against the skin, so there's no need to worry about it irritating or scarring your face. It has kind of a strong scent, but I believe it's just the smell of the ingredient instead of added fragrance. It's thicker than the milky cleanser, but doesn't feel to heavy on the skin. I've only been using it for a couple weeks now, and I only use it every other day so that I don't dry out or hurt my skin, but so far I really like it! It's done a great job of making the dry patches around my nose disappear and makes my skin feel refreshed and revitalized. I'll give it a 8.5/10 so far!

The next two products I've been using have been critical in keeping my skin moisturized during the cold weather. First up is the Sky Organics Vitamin E Oil; this oil is now one of my favorite oils to use! It's so hydrating and moisturizing without being overly heavy. I usually use it every night before my other moisturizers and products, but I don't mind mixing it into my daily moisturizer for an extra healthy glow. My skin feels so damn soft ever since I've started using this oil and I will be purchasing more the second this bottle runs out! A 10/10 for me!

Last but not least, I've been using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Pressed Serum in place of my usual nightly moisturizer. I like it, but it's not my favorite. It is very fragranced, almost like a hairspray smell, and it's not as thick or emollient as I'd like. It does do a good job of hydrating the skin and it does sink in nicely, but I wouldn't say this is my holy grail nightly moisturizer. The skin does feel plump after using it, but it doesn't have the glow I'm looking for the next day. When this is paired with a good exfoliant, it does keep dry winter skin away, but without an exfoliator you need to use a lot of product. I have grown to really like the product, but there are others that I would reach for first. I could see myself repurchasing and possibly using it every other night and my current favorite the other evenings. Overall, I give it a 6.5/10!
